Yarrawonga

Yarrawonga has a lot to offer. I chose Green Bank only 5km out of town.

Yarrawonga, on the Murray River, has a good range of camping along the river. I stayed at Green Bank within the Murray River Reserve. Turn off the B400 3km west of town onto Cullens Road. Take a left at the fork where the information board is, then follow the river.

Campsites are all along the high riverbank, with little access roads going into the campsites from the main track in.

One toilet sits at the bend in the track where it turns away from the river. It is OK, but if you have your own toilet, it saves a long walk if you haven’t found a spot close and you wont need to que during busy times.

Camping here is well spaced due to the topography. The area is large enough to cater for quite a few campers. The dogs have lots of room to sniff around, as well as playing around the riverbank. The dogs had a good swim here, with the steep banks making for good exercise.

The town has good cafes and shopping. There is an information centre by the river at the end of the main road through the town.

I was able to fill my water tank while refuelling at the Caltex service station attached to McDonalds.
