There are two good campsites south of Mitta Mitta, one 14km and the other 22km. Both are beside Snowy Creek and with lots to offer.
The Walnuts Campground has a stand of very leafy trees. It is a huge area just off the road. The creek is a great spot for the dogs to explore. It needed a mower over it when I was there, but I think it was in line for one as the next campsite was being mowed when I arrived.
Lightning Creek Campground is a huge campsite over a little bridge just off the road, with lots of fireplaces, a toilet and a fast flowing creek. If you want more privacy, a second camping area is available around the corner. Follow the track to the right of the picnic area to another large camping area.
This region is a lovely area to explore and unwind. The surrounds are a very easy vicinity to spend time.
