Toomulla Beach has a park like rest area for camping
The turn off for Toomulla Beach is about 66km south of Ingham or 43 km north of Townsville. Travel through town to the Esplanade, then turn right, when heading south. At the end of the road is a park like rest area, tucked behind an inlet. It is not a huge area, so positioning one’s rig or tent thoughtfully is appreciated.
For the fisherman and boaties, the boat ramp is handy. For the bird watchers, the peace and quiet here makes for good viewing and listening. It is a great place for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. It has that sleepy relaxed feel about it, where just wondering about, putting one foot in front of the other is enough to concern oneself with.
Toomulla Beach is a great camping spot to spend time mucking around the inlet and the beach, filling the two-day stay limit quite easily.
The facilities are good at Toomulla Beach, including water and wheelchair access. Picnic tables and BBQs are provided and mobile reception is good.
There is a lot to see and do in the area, so it is worth doing a little research.
