Swans Creek Crossing
Swans Creek Crossing is a spacious camping area with lots to discover.
Swans Creek Crossing, in the Kerewong State Forest, has heaps of room with a large grassed camping area and good walks in the hills.
The toilets are clean long drops. Fireplaces are dotted around the camping grounds, although timber needs to be hunted.
To get there, turn off at Kendall and follow the road to Lorne. 4 km from Kendall turn onto Upsalls Creek Road for about 12 km. The 10 km or so of dirt road can be quite rough and steep in places, so go slow and enjoy the scenery.
The camping area is split in two, with a day visitor area in the middle.
Camping in shade is not plentiful, but this is a quiet spot, so I don’t think it gets too busy to find shade if needed. I camped there over the Christmas period and found only three other campers camped in the area.
