Stradbroke Island

Stradbroke Island is a paradise next to, yet so far from, a capital city.

Stradbroke Island is one of Queensland’s highlights. This little piece of paradise, right next to Brisbane, has a number of long stretches of surf beach to choose from.

Depending on the weather, one can usually find a spot where some sort of activity is possible.

With the bay on one side, surf on the two other sides and bush dotted with lakes between, there is always something to do on Stradbroke Island.

Flinders Beach has wow a factor. If you love camping on the beach with your dogs, it doesn’t get much better than this. Beachfront locations are accessible only by 4WD from Amity Point or Point Lookout. Toilet facilities are available. Only minutes away is any convenience you would need for your stay.

Main Beach is situated along the eastern coast with your choice of campsites within the designated areas. It is also accessible by 4WD only, depending on the tides. There are no amenities or drinking water at Main Beach.

The fees are very affordable, phone 1300 551 253 for more information about camping on Stradbroke Island.

The ferry service has no problem with dogs on board so long they stay in the vehicle. Fares are about $130 return and a trailer is the same depending on the length.
