Tumbarumba

The historic town of Tumbarumba is a pleasant place.

You will find Tumbarumba in the Snowy Valley district, with 3 quite different campsites available to the south of town.

‘Tumba’ is an attractive historic town, where the town folk are friendly. Parking is available behind the reasonably stocked supermarket. A large park with a pretty creek running through it has toilets good facilities.

Henry Angel Flat is 8km south of town and is one of the best camp sites I have stayed in. It was built by the Wagga Lands Department with local labour from a government scheme. The excellent toilet block with flushing toilets, dishwashing facilities, hot water and is cleaned every week. The separate building with the BBQ facilities, include a free electric BBQ, generous seating and an electrical power point to charge laptops and phones etc. Plugging your rig in is not advised..

Another building houses the information panels and more seating. The Hume and Hovell walking track crosses here.

The area is lush green valley grass with lots of shade. The creek running through is good for a cooling dip. Camping on both sides with a bridge across the creek for accessing the facilities. Maximum stay is 4 weeks.

Paddys River Falls is 16km south with a small camping area above the falls. Stairs go down to the magnificent falls. This is high scrubby ground, with shade.

Paddys River Flats is 18km south is very popular. It is a nice setting along the creek with lots of shade if you can get a spot by the creek.
