Nundle

Nundle is an attractive town with lovely places to take the dogs camping.

Nundle is southwest of Tamworth at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, on the Peel River. This area has a number of attractive campsites in all directions from town. I found three unique campgrounds that were good to take the dogs.

The town itself is worth visiting. This is a scenic village, with historic buildings that remind one that this area goes back to the gold rush days of the 1850s. Not only gold but other precious stones are to be found including zircons, green jasper and sapphires.

This is a beautiful area to explore. Whether it’s sitting by the many little babbling brooks, enjoying the treasure that is just sitting still in nature for a while, or driving up to Hanging Rock for the views, you wont be disappointed with investing some time here.
