Gunning has provided a very nice site by the creek and swimming pool.
The rest area at Gunning, north of Canberra, is a stunner. Barbour Park sits by a lovely creek and the local swimming pool.
Situated at the end of town, this rest area is very convenient.
Gunning is an attractive and friendly historical town to visit. There are markets, cafes and the basic facilities expected. Even the children in this town were friendly in a happy confident way. I was very impressed with the town.
The toilets and cold shower at Gunning are attached to the swimming pool complex. They are available 24hrs a day.
The undercover BBQ facilities are at the entrance end of the park.
There is also room on the other side of the creek for parking, but the bridge across the creek is under repair. There is talk of building a new toilet and shower block on this other side, with hot water!
