Crooked-Creek-Rest-Area-Drake

Drake

Drake has a nice rest area just out of town on the highway.

Just 9 kilometers west of Drake or 40 kilometers east of Tenterfield, is a great little rest area called Crooked Creek Rest Area. It is a little steep going down to the camping area, but it is easily negotiated.

The site at Drake has a slight slope going down to the creek, although a reasonably level site is not hard to find.

The creek area is heavily populated with ferns and a forest surrounds the site. The sound of the creek running gives Crooked Creek the feeling of being deep into a forest, rather than being on a Bruxner Highway.

The dogs loved it at Drake. It is a great place to run around and sniff out new adventures.

There are lots of walking to do around here with treasures to be discovered for the more energetic.

The New South Wales State Forests have provided a toilet and maintain the site.
