Easy and relaxing for dog travel
The grounds and facilities at the camping area at Bendemeer were easy and relaxed for dog travel. Even the pub was off leash!
The campsite at Bendemeer, north of Tamworth NSW, is a fantastic place for the dog travel and camping. Turn off the highway then turn immediately left onto a dirt track going down to the rodeo grounds. There is lots of area along the river to park and camp. The toilet is clean with a flushing toilet. Water is available too.
A pleasant stroll across the old bridge takes you to dog-friendly Bendemeer. There is a library/café and a store/café on the other side of the river, along with a beautiful old pub that is so dog-friendly, the dogs are allowed off leash! The coffee at the store/café is very good. The book collection at the library/café is a great place to exchange and the fruitcake is extremely good and great value!
There are no fees to stay at Bendemeer. My form of thanks was to spend money in the town. All services were good value and friendly.
